Bummer, but it can be repaired.

This seems to be a common problem with these spindles. A hardened (10.9) steel bolt in a soft aluminum thread is mayhem in disguise. There is a stud kit available to solve this problem, but i think armoring the threads with helicoil is the next best cost effective solution.
