Pretty early during the "thought"-phase of this build i decided i want a modern fuel injected, cleaner engine and a transmission with more than three or four speeds (even if it was an overdrive transmission like the A518).
I pondered piecing together a drivetrain from a 6.1 or 6.4 hemi and the 545RFE transmission, not really looking into manual transmissions because i don't know jack about the Tremec stuff. I planned to buy a piece here, a piece there, put it together slowly and with the usual problems of clips and bolts missing.
Then this thing popped up and changed the game:

Yes, that's a hemi.

6.4 Gen 3 SRT Hemi, 485 hp, 475 lb-ft of torque.

Alongside this engine comes a minuscule collection of parts... including the matching TR6060 six speed manual transmission.

Also included in this collection of innards of a Hemi Challenger:
6.4L Hemi engine
TR6060 6-Speed manual transmission
engine accessories
engine harness
fuse box with body control module
ABS unit
engine computer
pedal assembly
fuel pumps
shifter
steering column
vin matched ignition key
dash harness
body harness with battery cables
speedometer
fuel tank
exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters
I got up to speed and bought it. Although the 5-digit price tag is a lot of money, i call that a total win if you consider buying all the parts off ebay plus individual shipping and such...
This way, there is no farting around with aftermarket ECUs and wiring harnesses, no bad promises and next-to-impossible making-it-road-legal.
It's also a perfect match for the manual steering column and floor shift cutout in the truck. Now i need an FSM for that 2015 Challenger...
Also money can be regained by selling off parts that i won't need:
body control module
ABS unit
pedal assembly
fuel tank (after pulling the important stuff from it)
