GM Engineers Arrested for Racing C8 Corvettes in Kentucky

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is a feat of engineering, a blast to drive, and a surprising bargain with a sub $60K starting price. For a pair of GM engineers, though, the C8 'Vette might have been too much fun. Apparently, Kentucky State Troopers charged two engineers with "racing a motor a vehicle on a public highway," amid other charges.

The year, 1996. The city, Las Vegas. East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane. It's 11:15 p.m., Sept. 7, and rapper Tupac Shakur just left the MGM Grand casino with producer Suge Knight in a 1996 BMW 750iL. Shots ring out. Shakur gets hit by four .40-caliber rounds, two in the chest, one in the arm and one in the thigh. He dies six days later in a nearby hospital. That car, then registered to Death Row Records, is now for sale at Celebrity Cars of Las Vegas for $1.75 million.
