We now have a new website provider, so I wanted to be sure to let everyone know that we still provide an Autocheck report for every used vehicle on our lot. The screenshots below point out the button's location on the new website, clickable on the search results page (top photo) & on the vehicle's detail page.
The Harry Robinson Automotive Family has (as long as I've been here; more than 10 years) always provided a used vehicle report for every vehicle on the lot and has always offered them no charge for any VIN via email even if you don't buy from us.
I'm the first to point out that car dealerships do not in any way, shape, or form control what is on an autocheck report, nor do we want to hide the information from you. I realize that Carfax (that sneaky fox) has spent A LOT of money convincing the public that car dealers don't want them to have the information--while also charging the dealer & the consumer for this information.
Then there is this:
"CARFAX does not have the complete history of every vehicle.
A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX."
In 2016, we switched from using CarFax to using AutoCheck for several reasons, which I laid out in a blog post HERE.
AutoCheck is an Experian company and therefore generally well accepted & trusted. AutoCheck is an automotive vehicle history report similar to CarFax. Unlike Carfax, it also includes auction data, which can influence the value of a car. Both AutoCheck & Carfax have DMV title & registration info & some accident information. It can be said for all vehicle history reports, they can not always be 100% accurate, and they tell you that in the fine print. AutoCheck also has a vehicle buyback protection plan.
If there's a vehicle you would like to get a report for but can't for whatever reason, just email me cathyn@harryrobinson.com with the VIN, and I'll be happy to send you a copy. Yes, even if it's not ours & you don't plan to buy from us, because no one wants a crappy car if it can be avoided.
