You may or may not have heard, but there's a shortage of autos. Covid shut down or redirected production for a good amount of time, and now there is a chip shortage to deal with. We saw this problem coming down the pike, but it's a difficult spot. We've dealt with our share of angry service customers because it's challenging to get parts. Now we are facing something we haven't ever had to worry about...what if we run out of vehicles to sell?

The factories made far fewer vehicles & the supply chains available to dealers for used inventory have dried up. Now, we need vehicles, and we are relying primarily on trades for that.

We employ 84 at our Fort Smith store & 32 at our Sallisaw Oklahoma Ford store. That is nearly 120 families in the River Valley counting on us to stay open & conduct business. We've also made significant commitments to areas schools & our local police department. We aren't desperate, but we do need to be resourceful.

So, we're reaching out to you, our community. If you have a vehicle you've been holding on to, there's no better time to sell it! Literally, no other time in history can you get more for your used vehicle than right now. We always give you more for your trade here at Harry Robinson Buick GMC & Sallisaw Ford. In this current market, that is elevated even more.

There's also no better time to buy a new vehicle. Our manufacturers have stayed committed to offering hefty rebates to drive new car sales, which helps us too because many people do trade out of their vehicles, which helps us keep a flow of used vehicle traffic.

If you're driving down 1-540 near the Zero Street exits, look over to our lot & others. You can quickly get a visual of the lack of inventory.

So, we're asking, if you're in a position to buy new & trade or have a vehicle you can sell to us, please contact us. We're looking for vehicles 2013 or newer with less than 120,000 miles. Follow this link for more details & to reach out to us. You can also stop by 6000 S 36th Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and ask for our general sales manager, Scott, or sales manager, Adam.  If you have questions you can call 479-646-8600 and ask to speak with anyone in our BDC Department, Katlin, Lizette & Alexis J are here to help.

Thank you for sharing this information with all of your friends. We appreciate you. We're all gonna be alright. #FortSmithStrong #RiverValleyProud #HarrysHere

Thank you.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. auto industry group on Monday urged the government to help as it warned the global semiconductor shortage could result in 1.28 million fewer vehicles built this year and disrupt production for another six months.
