All-Electric Chevrolet Bolt Will Return on Ultium Platform              It doesn't feel all that long since the refreshed Chevy Bolt and its EUV sibling arrived on the scene, but GM is already planning a next-generation Bolt. And it will be based on the Ultium platform.     Does this mean that the small hatch profile will be replaced with something larger?    Just a few days ago GM CEO Mary Barra dropped a few hints about the next Bolt, just as GM works on bringing more Ultium platform models to consumers. But the next Bolt will also have to steer clear of the Equinox EV, with the automaker keen to differentiate the two lower-priced electric offerings.    Meanwhile, the next GM electric model scheduled to be revealed in just a few days will land at the very opposite end of the size spectrum.    Read on to find out what's in the works. READ THE FULL STORY BMW Has Started Production of This Electric Sedan      Just a few days ago BMW kicked off production of the i5, with the goal of addressing a segment that has seen surprisingly little attention to date. This omission is understandable given the established pattern: a decade ago Tesla focused on a large and pricey full-size luxury sedan segment early on with the Model S, followed by the compact Model 3 several years later.    While following this template meant EVs occupying the traditional BMW 7-Series and 3-Series slots were covered, midsize electric sedans have taken quite a bit more time to materialize given the attention subsequently given to SUVs and crossovers.    Now, with the i4 and i7 already in production, it's BMW's turn to put forth its challenger in this segment, set to face another recent arrival from Mercedes-Benz in the form of the EQE sedan.    Does this mean internal combustion versions of the 5-Series will disappear in the near future?    Not at all, as these versions of the 5-Series cars will be built alongside the i5.    Read on to find out what to expect from this new sedan.   READ THE FULL STORY 2025 Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-tron Prototype Drive Previews a New EV Era      Audi kicked off its electric SUV offerings years ago with the e-tron, later renamed Q8, and the smaller Q4 e-tron. And soon it will be the turn of the middle sibling, with the arrival of the Q6 e-tron Quattro and its sportier SQ5 sibling.     Intended as electric alternatives to the Q5 and SQ5, the duo will be based on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture developed with Porsche.    This means all-new electric motors, designed to be even quieter and more efficient, with power coming from a 93.0-kWh battery featuring prismatic-type lithium-ion cells.    Among other things, the Q6 e-tron promises a range of 372 miles in the WLTP cycle, and very quick recharges.    But what is it like to actually drive?    We went to the Faroe Islands, positioned just between Iceland and Norway, to try the prototypes.
