Musk Says No Volume Production for Tesla Cybertruck until 2025

The Tesla Cybertruck has been in development for so long we've seen other electric trucks arrive on sale—and even enter their second model years—that were originally revealed after its concept debut. It's also been in development long enough for its exterior design to go through a few changes, which may or may not please those who've put down a deposit for the truck.
On the latest investor call this week Tesla CEO Elon Musk worked to allay some fears about the Cybertruck, while also dialing down production volume expectations.
Tesla still has high hopes for hitting a major milestone with Cybertruck production starting in 2025.
Quite a few details remain elusive, including the starting price, despite Tesla already publicizing a delivery event for late November of this year. That's right: the first delivery event is weeks away, but it's not clear just who will get these trucks and for how much.

Volvo's Electric Minivan Leaked Ahead of Debut

Volvo has resisted offering a minivan for decades, even though it could have been very successful with such a model, especially during the heyday of this body style.

But 2023 is apparently the year the automaker felt was the right time to release such a model. And it's electric, of course.

Dubbed the Volvo EM90, the minivan was spotted in patent photos in China where it will be produced. And it will share quite a bit with yet another Geely model—the Zeekr 009 that debuted earlier this year.

If Zeekr specs are any indication, the Volvo model should offer very impressive range with both battery options well above the 100-kWh mark. And it also won't be cheap.

But is it something that could sell well stateside if Volvo were to offer it here?

Here's When BMW Group EVs Will Get Tesla Ports

The BMW Group is the latest automaker to announce plans to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which will extend to its Mini and Rolls-Royce brands as well.
The timing differs a bit from that of other automakers that have revealed plans to allow owners of their EVs to use Supercharger stations. So charging your BMW at a Tesla Supercharger won't be an option for a while.
BMW, along with six other automakers, is still planning to launch a charging network of its own starting in 2024 according plans revealed earlier this summer, one that will also support NACS ports.
Will this new charging network eventually rival Tesla's Supercharger network?
