Mercedes Compact EV Sedan Spied, Promises Impressive New Platform

Mercedes-Benz already has two electric sedans in its lineup, and both are pretty generous when it comes to exterior dimensions. The EQS and EQE kicked things off, but yet another EV sedan is in the works, and this time it will be a compact model.
The new sedan will feature an all-new platform dubbed MMA and will offer an 800-volt electrical architecture, which will allow for ultra-fast charging speeds.
What's more, the new sedan is expected to offer a two-speed transmission, with the aim of saving energy at highway speeds. And the upcoming sedan has already been spotted testing in our spy photos.

Here's Where Scout Will Build Its New R&D Facility

VW's plans to bring back Scout as an EV-only brand may have seemed whimsical when they were first revealed. After all, do many EV shoppers today even remember the original Scout models, and would they take a chance on a relaunched brand, especially given the number of competitors on the market today?
But work is under way to develop the first two EVs for the Scout brand, including an SUV and a pickup truck, with Scout planning to offer lower price points compared to Rivian.
Scout already has plans for a factory in South Carolina, but it will also have an R&D facility in Michigan.
