BMW readies its Neue Klasse for launch

BMW Neue Klasse X Shows the All-Electric Future of the Brand      A new generation of EVs from BMW is on the way, dubbed Neue Klasse as a nod to the project that breathed new life into a foundering BMW over 60 years ago. And the new electric models that will be part of the Neue Klasse will reflect this, with more than a few references to BMW designs of the 1960s.    We've already seen a few hints of what the Neue Klasse cars will look like, thanks to the i Vision Dee sedan concept.    And this week BMW took the wraps off the Neue Klasse X concept, and it's said to be pretty close to what we'll see on the roads relatively soon, albeit under a different name.    This first look at the electric SUV model—or, rather, Sports Activity Vehicle as BMW prefers—is all about the design. But BMW also shed light on some of the futuristic tech we'll see inside when the SAV arrives in production form.     Here's what this new generation of electric BMW models promises. READ THE FULL STORY 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron Ups Its EV Game      The Audi Q6 e-tron is all new, sitting on a new architecture dubbed Premium Platform Electric (PPE) that we'll also see in the electric Porsche Macan. And it's joining Ingolstadt's lineup at a time when the automaker has quite a few of the segments already covered.    For starters, the Q6 e-tron will feature a 100-kWh battery, while also promising a higher energy density than previous battery packs Audi has used. The Q6 e-tron will serve up 382 hp in base form, and even more power will be reserved for the SQ6 e-tron, with all-wheel-drive standard on both.    Still, even though there is a larger Q8 e-tron in the lineup, the midsize Q6 won't be cheap.    But Audi also promises something unusual in this lineup: a RWD version of the Q6 e-tron. And it will have a smaller battery pack, targeting a lower starting price.    Here's what to expect from this new EV model and its variants. READ THE FULL STORY Fisker Addresses Bankruptcy Rumors      Fisker has been rumored to be looking for further investments to keep production going, after missing its 2023 targets. But after a report that the EV maker has hired restructuring advisors, the company is under the microscope, fighting off rumors of a possible bankruptcy.    Fisker has issued a statement on the matter, but it has also warned in recent months that it might not have the cash to stay afloat through the end of the current year.    This is all happening as Fisker is working on plans to put the Alaska pickup and the Pear hatch into production in 2025.    Here's what's happening with the EV maker.
