Delays are still the norm in EV launches

Volvo Delays EX30 US Launch Following New Tariff      The Volvo EX30 was unlike anything else we've seen from the automaker in years, promising to open a new chapter for Volvo while offering a tidy footprint, a modest starting price, and just enough range.     But now the model has been delayed, and the culprit is not something those eager for the new EV may have been expecting at all.    The newly announced tariffs certainly had a role, but it's possible that some other factors may have also played a part in Volvo's decision to delay the model.     Here's how Volvo described the situation. But it was never quite an agile performer with a PRV V6 positioned out back.    Now that EV conversions for classic cars are becoming more common, is it time to give the DMC-12 the performance it deserved?    UK-based EV conversion specialist Electrogenic has done just that, giving the futuristic coupe the ability to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds.    But will its range and price convince DMC-12 owners to go for the swap?  READ THE FULL STORY Tesla Cybertruck Recalls Are Piling Up      Tesla may have expected the Cybertruck to have a few teething issues, with CEO Elon Musk having hinted at some challenges even before deliveries began late last year.     But after a recall for an accelerator pedal cover that could detach and become lodged in place, applying force to the pedal, the Cybertruck was hit with additional recalls this month.     However, not all issues experienced by new vehicle owners, even commonly seen ones, will always result in recalls. Automakers have other means to address technical issues, as Tesla has done with its frequent over-the-air software updates.    Still, if owner reports are any indication, a few other issues could also be somewhat common on this electric truck.
