2025 Volvo EX90 Has Big Aspirations and Small Hiccups Volvo's long-awaited electric flagship is finally headed on sale later this year, slated to become the brand's second battery-electric model. But this isn't merely an electric version of the XC90. It is both wider and longer, even if it bears a strong resemblance to its ICE sibling. Quite a lot is riding on this particular vehicle launch for Volvo's EV aspirations, which have recently seen some backpedaling. And now, in 2024, it will also face some direct and indirect competition, mostly from Team Germany, which has spent the last few years churning out new electric luxury SUVs. But does the vehicle itself live up to expectations? Here's how our test drive of the new electric flagship went. |

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT Wants to Go Off-Road The Hyundai Ioniq 5 already has so much going for it just in standard form, from a fresh exterior design to excellent road manners and range, that it would be difficult to improve upon. This year we've already seen the new performance-oriented Ioniq 5 N, so there is only one other way to go: off road. The Ioniq 5 XRT will be that off-road-focused dual-motor machine, offering more ground clearance along with some knobby tires and some brash new bodywork. But will this recipe be enough of a hit with casual EV shoppers? |

Renault Gives the R17 the EV Treatment with Sleek Restomod You may not remember the R17—or even Renault's presence stateside for that matter. Let's just say that the original small coupe was a big deal for the brand years before the Fuego arrived to set the French coupe world on fuego. And now the R17 has been given the EV restomod treatment, finished in a very appropriate brown paint job. While the exterior may require an appreciation of French cars from the 1970s—an acquired taste, we'll admit—the interior is a nostalgic retreat worth a look even if you're not a Renault fan, making us wish this wasn't just a concept.
