Tesla Robotaxi Is a Driverless Car That Will Cost Under $30,000

Just hours ago Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed the company's long-promised robotaxi, dubbed Cybercab, with the pocket-sized coupe featuring a few Cybertruck design elements. And just as industry observers had suspected, the Cybercab doesn't have a steering wheel or pedals, instead featuring a large screen on the dash.
But just when could we see these on the roads?
The Tesla reveal was more of a concept demonstration than a debut of a production-ready model, but Elon Musk hinted that such robotaxis could enter production before 2027, adding a caveat or two, while also painting a timeline for when Full Self-Driving (Supervised) might actually become unsupervised.
But the Cybercab wasn't the only new concept Tesla revealed this week.

Tesla took the wraps off a van concept as well, while plenty of Optimus robots mingled with the audience.

Waymo Teams Up with This Automaker on EV Robotaxis

Robotaxi developer and operator Waymo has emerged as the industry leader in the US when it comes to SAE Level 4 tech in the ride-hailing market, operating fleets in several cities and partnering with Uber.
But Waymo is overdue for new electric vehicles in its fleets, with the company having been relying on the Jaguar I-Pace for a number of years.
The robotaxi developer has been working with Volvo parent company Geely on a purpose-built robotaxi under the Zeekr brand, but recent tariffs on Chinese EVs are believed to have made this project a little more complicated.
Waymo is now teaming up with one other automaker to provide the next-gen vehicles for its robotaxi fleets. Here's when we could see these on the roads.
