2026 Kia EV4 Is Coming to America ... Eventually More than half a decade after its debut, few automakers have been itching to challenge the Tesla Model 3 directly. But a slightly smaller EV sedan is on the way soon, and it should be able to undercut the Model 3 in price. The Kia EV4 was revealed in production guise just a few days ago, previewing the brand's latest addition to its E-GMP platform lineup. Among other things, the sedan will offer over 300 miles of range when optioned with the larger battery pack, with a 201-hp motor driving the front wheels. An AWD version could join it as well. Mercedes Is Testing This Firm's Solid-State Cells Solid-state batteries have been an EV industry buzzword for over a decade, but plans for their mass production have perpetually been just out of reach, always a few years away. Now, Mercedes appears to be edging ahead with this promising battery technology. The automaker has begun tests of Factorial Energy's solid-state design, estimating a range of over 1,000 kilometers, or over 621 miles, in its prototype EQS sedan. But a lot of things still have to fall into place before consumers can actually take advantage of solid-state tech.
