Slate EV Truck Has Low Price, Lots of Accessories It's safe to say the first batch of electric pickup trucks has been on the maximalist side in every metric, ranging from horsepower to curb weight to price. But there seems to be demand for something on the opposite end of the spectrum as well: An EV truck with a modest footprint, a spartan interior, and a low starting price. That's just what a new company called Slate promises, having revealed a compact and endlessly customizable pickup (or SUV, if you buy the parts) that could start south of the $30,000 mark before any incentives are applied. After they're applied, the starting price could drop below $20,000. (Of course, these incentives also have to continue to exist in the coming years). Quite a bit has to happen before one of these ends up in your driveway, or anyone's driveway for that matter, with production expected to start next year. Here are the specs that this truck promises. |
