Chinese Automakers Are Moving at Astonishing Speed      China's auto industry has been in the news lately, mostly due to daily coverage of tariffs, given the fact that a number of US-market models, including a notable Buick crossover, are produced in China.     But rarely does the US car-buying public get an up-close look at the models that aren't available stateside but sold elsewhere in the world.     This spring's Auto Shanghai easily dwarfed the New York auto show. READ THE FULL STORY Here's Why EREVs Are Back in the News      You may have noticed that EREVs are slowly coming back in the spotlight after a long absence, and after it seemed fairly certain that BEV powertrains were an inescapable trend.     Things have changed now that we are halfway through the decade, with a number of automakers now betting on extended-range electric models, especially when it comes to pickup trucks.    But pickups aren't the only segment that seems destined to receive EREV options in the coming years.    Here are a few reasons some automakers are now giving this technology a second look.
