Lexus Rolls Out Only Its Second EV

If you have trouble reading this message, view it in a browser. 2026 Lexus ES Is Only the Division's Second All-Electric Vehicle      EVs may have hit a plateau in the US market, at least for the moment, but that hasn't stopped Lexus from making one more conversion.    Lexus just launched an all-electric model of the entry-level ES sedan here for the 2026 model year. It will join a new version of the ES hybrid that's been on-sale here for four years. Both get new sheetmetal and updated interiors. (The electric Lexus RZ EV has been for sale here for the last four years.)    The new 2026 electric model you see here is being offered in front-wheel-drive ES 350e and all-wheel-drive ES 500e models, available in Premium and luxury trims.    Read more here. READ THE FULL STORY BMW Reveals the i3, the Second Model of the Neue Klasse        The Neue Klasse—the all-new, all-electric platform aimed at revolutionizing BMW and bringing it into an electric future—now has a second model. The first was the iX3: a compact SUV, or SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle), as BMW calls it. They had to do that, since crossovers are all anyone wants to buy nowadays. But the next model to ride on the Neue Klasse platform is one you are more likely to want to drive—not a crossover but a four-door sedan that looks a lot like a 3-Series. READ THE FULL STORY Uber, Rivian Plan 50,000 Robotaxis in Major Autonomy Push      Uber and Rivian are making a major push into autonomous mobility, the companies announced, with plans to deploy up to 50,000 fully driverless robotaxis over the next decade.    The partnership centers on Rivian's upcoming R2 electric SUV, which will serve as the basis for the robotaxi fleet that will operate exclusively on the Uber platform. The companies say an first phase will involve 10,000 fully autonomous vehicles, with first examples expected to operate in San Francisco and Miami starting in 2028. The program is intended to expand to as many as 25 cities across the US, Canada, and Europe by 2031.    Read more here.
